TUESDAY NIGHTS FIRST CLASS 2024 – Term 1, 6 February, 7.30PM

Classes

After nearly 40 years of dedication, many hundreds of students have experienced the tremendous benefits of listening to the profound teachings Therese has provided for us. Now retired, we are reminded each day of the nature of impermanence, as she is greatly missed and certainly, unable to be replaced.

Therese continues to promote the benefits for all past, present and future students to maintain a regular practice, as we continue to seek a clear and calm mind. Whilst Therese’s students continue to search for a future spiritual director, the Centre provides unique space for students to attend weekly meditation classes and the study of basic Buddhist philosophy, to create the cause of harmony in our lives.

Announcing an Exciting New Teaching program at BBMC that continues to offer weekly classes, of meditation, recitation and teachings with Lisa Bottomley, providing the traditional ‘handouts’ that has been passed on to her with instructions from her beloved mother, Therese.

In addition, the Beaumaris Students will have a special ‘night out’ visiting Tara Institute, once a month (see dates) to benefit from receiving a teaching with the resident and spiritual leader, Geshe Doga, a long life special friend of Therese and the family, who provided the extraordinary opportunity of a Puja in Therese’s honour on 21 January 2024.

Geshe Doga will be teaching Lama Tsong Khapa’s Middle Length Lam Rim, that he last taught in 2018. The Lam Rim presents the stages in the path to enlightenment as taught by Buddha. . As explained by TI, ‘To hear the teachings of Lama Tsong Khapa are said to be extremely rare, but to receive these from such a qualified and realised teacher as Geshe Doga is beyond compare’.

All Beaumaris Students are welcome to join us each month (past, present and emerging) as we enjoy a cuppa after class to mingle and continue to enjoy the benefits of this special sangha that was established by the guidance and love of our teacher, Therese.

OUR SPIRITUAL PROGRAM

Tuesday Nights – Weekly Meditation Practice, with Lisa Bottomley

We can all find one hour each week to cherish this time to recite traditional Tibetan prayers and find quiet and calm in a simple meditation.

Reciting Tibetan prayers together is incredibly beneficial, to transform the suffering mind of ignorance and delusion into the magnificent mind of enlightenment. Therese’s past teachings and numerous handouts have provided us guidance to revisit the heart teachings that are as relevant today as they were when Therese first taught us.

Everyone is encouraged to come along, enjoy the benefits of our weekly practice, and please stay for a cuppa and chat!

This would suit all past, present and future students, beginners and advanced, looking to support a weekly practice, in a unique setting supported and surrounded by a highly committed and caring sangha.

Fees: $5 donation
